Item Requests/Donations
Send requests/donations to Helantia.
Think of this as take a penny, give a penny. 
If you request mats/gear/etc, just remember to throw something toward the guild vault every once in a while so other guildies can have their requests fulfilled.
If you send something to Helantia and she sends it back to you, feel free to sell it on the AH or give it to an enchanter to disenchant.

Leveling Up
You can level up solo and sometimes solo is better than grouping because you don't have to wait around for all party members to get drops, you don't have to share xp and all the loot is all yours.

Making Gold
We will not give you gold.  Please sell greens, mats, etc, that you don't want to donate, on the auction house.  Another easy way to make gold is to grind humanoid mobs that drop cloth.  Linen, wool, silk, mageweave and runecloth are all hot commodities on the auction house as tailoring, first aid and rep turn ins all require cloth.  If you have a gathering profession (which is highly recommended that you do) sell your mats on the auction house.  Leather, ore and bars, and herbs sell great on the auction house.  With all that in mind, do not feel obligated to donate your hard earned booty to the guild.  But on the same hand, don't expect to receive a whole ton of shiny things from the guild either as fewer items will be coming in.  Helantia always sends back items that cannot be given to another player so the person who donated it may sell it.  Gold making is difficult in lower levels but you will start to see significant earnings as you level up and find better things to sell on the auction house.
